Jack is himself a highly accomplished athlete. He won the Canadian Death Race three consecutive years in a row with a PB in the Marathon of 2:34:37 at the 1999 Vancouver Marathon . He also competed in both the World Mountain Running Championships and the World 100km Championships using the adapted training protocols he developed to improve performance.
In recent years he has started to compete in HYROX and Crossfit competitions, qualifying for the HYROX World Championships.
Early in his career before developing back issues Jack won a silver medal at the Canadian Cross Country Ski Championships and traveled to Europe to compete at the World Nordic Championships but was not able to maintain form and was not selected to the team while in Europe.
Upon retiring from competing in cross country skiing he used his passion and approach to help athletes attend the World Junior Championships in both cross country skiing and cross country running and played a role in athletes being selected to attend the World Nordic Championships and the Olympic Winter Games while coaching for the Edmonton Nordic Ski Club.
His current Training Project is combining Concept ll (ERG, SkiERG & BikeERG ) with running and cross country skiing geared to competing in Track & Field and Cross Country Skiing Sprint events.
